Toba Cohen-Dunning

Toba Cohen-Dunning has been with the Omaha Public Schools Foundation (OPSF) for eleven years, seven as Executive Director. She was the Director of Development for Boys Town National Research Hospital from 2000-2006. Toba served as an aid in Nebraska for U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey from 1994-2000 concentrating on Entitlement Reform and Immigration casework. She served as a legislative assistant for U.S. Senator Jim Exon in Washington, DC from 1989-1994 working with the Budget and Taxation Policy Committee. The OPSF is the non-profit arm of the Omaha Public Schools (OPS), the largest urban school district in the State of Nebraska, with a student membership of 52,000. OPSF was ranked the #2 K-12 education foundation in the U.S. by the Caruthers Institute in the 2016 Stepping-Up Survey. Toba is married to Eric Dunning and they have two children, ages 9 and 15. She serves as co-president of the Jewish Social Services Board, is a member of the Jewish Federation of Omaha Board, a member of the Anti-Defamation League Board (No Place for Hate Campaign) and is president of Beth Israel Synagogue. She has recently finished her terms on the boards of the Fontenelle Forest Nature Preserve and the Omaha Home for Boys. She is a graduate of Creighton University and obtained her Masters in Social Work and Masters in Public Administration degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
